It was Christmas when the neighbors heard the screams. They came from a Tudor mansion on a quiet street in peaceful Boulder, Colorado a suburban home that would soon become the most infamous house in the country. It was here that six-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey lived and it was here that she died. When the little girl went missing, the police assumed she d been kidnapped. But when her broken body was found hidden in the basement, the case became a murder investigation, and the prime suspects were her parents. JonBenet's death shocked the nation, but despite relentless media scrutiny, the crime was never solved. Using publicly-available evidence, legendary forensic investigator Dr. Cyril Wecht formed a provocative, comprehensive theory of the events leading up to her death. Now, for the first time, the whole story can be told. In this gripping true crime account, the full tragedy of JonBenet will finally be revealed. Includes the complete ransom note, autopsy report, and an 8-page photo insert.

At the time this beautiful little girl was so merciless killed, our family had our own trauma with my husband being very, very ill. I took note of JonBenet, but soon forgot about her until recently with all the books on the market about the killing. I never knew how she died and is still shockedat what I read in this well-written book. Looking at photos of the family it is hard to believe that "maybe as it is not proved yet" this child died at their hands. How on earth could anybody do that to a child? The outlay of the house is so well described by Charles Bosworth, that whilst reading the narrative, it felt as if I am there. He manages to take the reader with the people living there and sharing in every single event. When John "discovered" the little corpse, I could almost see her on the cold concrete floor. Although he does not make a big deal of Burke, I do feel he has more to do with the crime. I am sure with all the people in the house Burke must have drawn attention to himself and maybe had an eyebrow lifted at how he behaved. The book is well written and I can recommend it as informative.

Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey? Cyril H Wecht Charles Bosworth Jr 9781631680960 Books Reviews
I just finished chapter 2. It's full of mistakes and omissions
-A spiral staircase from the 3rd floor bedroom to the 1st. The spiral staircase went from the 1st to the 2nd floor.
-Burke's bedroom being down the hall--it was, but the reader could assume that this was just on the other side of her door and not at the front of the house. It quite a distance from JB's bedroom door.
-Fleet grabbed the phone in the back office to call 911--You mean he went past the phone that was on the wall of the kitchen to place the 911 call in the 1st floor study where Patsy and the others were? Linda Arndt was the one who made the 911 call from a cell phone.
-John looked around the [living] room to see if anyone was watching him and this was reminiscent of when Patsy was supposed to be fake crying--this is the first I've heard of this. I'll have to find a source. I knew they said this about Patsy, but not John. Why leave out the "inside job" quote?
-Patsy threw herself over the body--That was after her friends helped her walk to the body in the living room. She couldn't even walk and had to be helped.
-The Ramseys were whisked away to a secret location--No, they weren't. The police knew where they were. The family got into two cars and went to stay at a friend's home. No one had any idea how big this story would be at that time. I'm not even sure at the time that they were thinking about the press.
Honestly, there's no need to put such bias in the writing. There are plenty of facts to suspect the Ramseys without it. This has all the feel of tabloid reporting. I was looking forward to reading because of the good reviews. Steve Thomas and James Kolar presented some really good theories along with the facts. Lawrence Schiller also put together a really good book on the murder.
(I'm not IDI but this is a hack.)
An excellent read. Author provides forensic insight to the famous Denver murder. While reading this book, I relived the memories of that infamous murder. An enlightening book of scientific data.
There is enough new stuff here on the Ramsey case to make this e-book worthwhile for Ramsey case followers. However I take strong issue with this author's contention that Patsy killed JonBenet accidently or that her daughter fell down the stairs causing that massive skull fracture. I 'm very confident that a family member is responsible but definitely not Patsy.
Excellent book. Very factual and informative
I still have no idea who really killed her. There are a lot of questions, and no clear answers. Good read.
Great book, shines a light on many previously unknown tidbits about the murder case. Very worthwhile read.
Overall, I think this is a very good book and I am not questioning Dr. Wecht's qualifications, his work or his conclusions.
I think that the book could have been improved by some small editing to minimize the effusive gushing over Dr. Wecht's accomplishments.
I don't know if this was done by the co-author or by Dr. Wecht himself, but the laudatory comments read like someone bragging in a high school yearbook. The language used to attempt to glorify Dr. Wecht had the opposite effect on me. I felt it was overdone, childish and unnecessary.
However, other than that, I think this is a very sensible, readable book, and I do recommend it to anyone who is interested in the Ramsey case.
